Scope of Work
The scope of work covered by this specification includes, but is not limited to, the following principal
» Disconnection and removal of three existing 33/0.433kV 3.0MVA transformers;
» Disconnection and removal of two existing 11kV switchboards;
» Disconnection and removal of one existing 48V D.C. power supply;
» Disconnection and removal of two existing 315kVA kiosk substations;
» Supply and installation of earthing system to existing 33/11kV transformer bays;
» Cutting and forming of new cable trenches in the existing Intake Sub Station, including cutting of
existing concrete floor, excavation, steel reinforcing, formwork, concrete work, steel framing and
provision of trench covers;
» Extension of existing Cat. A underground conduits from transformer bays into new cable trenches in
the Intake Sub Station;
» Supply and installation of two 6.0/7.5MVA 33/11kV transformers;
» Supply and installation of two 3.0MVA 11/0.433kV transformers;
» Supply and installation of two 11kV switchboards;
» Supply and installation of new dual redundant 48V D.C. power supplies;
» Supply and installation of central control, protection and monitoring equipment;
» Supply and installation of two 1.6MVA kiosk substations, including civil works as required;
» Connection of transformer alarm and trip signals;
» Connection of transformer On Load Tap Changer (OLTC) controls for Master / Follower / Independent
modes of operation;
» Supply and installation of HV and LV power cables;
» Supply and installation of all associated LV control and monitoring cables, including transformer and
switchgear alarms, switchgear inter-trips, electrical interlocks and transformer On Load Tap Changer
(OLTC) control and monitoring;
» Testing and commissioning (including VLF testing) of all HV cables, connections and terminations;
» Setting up of protection relays and programming of central control, protection and monitoring
equipment to provide all control, protection and monitoring functions in accordance with this
specification and associated drawings;
